Nursing

I just have to mention what Logan has dubbed nursing the baby. It is officially called MILKING THE BABY. Hope you all have a good laugh.

Just some random pictures of my beautiful girl

This is Abby's snigger smile. She crinkles her nose and squints her eyes and shows all her top gums. It's not entirely cute but pretty funny! (almost 10 months old)

Not Much of a Welcome Home

This is what we saw when we arrived home at 2:00 a.m.
Photobucket
How Rude! Our AC was fried and it was hot! The only blessings to it was that it had actually been cooler just before we arrived so it could have been much worse. Our second blessing was that I was able to get a referral to an AC man that came and diagnosed the problem, picked up the parts, and charged me $20 in labor...total cost $60. What a deal. Charles is my man!

4th of July

A couple of days before the 4th I had a barbeque with my college roommates. It was great to see everyone and their kids. It rained on us so it was mostly indoors but we had a great time. Holly even brought an old video she had made during our sophomore year.
Photobucket
On the 4th of July we went to Betsy and Lauri's house. They had horses on the property next to us so we could feed them and they had fainting goats. Apparently, when you startle the goats they will stiffen their legs and fall over. Check them out on You tube if you don't believe me.
Photobucket
Abby had a great 4th too. I took her to my parents breakfast and my mom had a star painted on her cheek. Her hairbow was compliments of my friend Kara. Totally cute!
Photobucket
Logan and Aunt Becca doing snaps. My boys ADORED!!!! Aunt Becca. My mother was rather jealous. They made her sit next to them at the reunion. Welcome to the family Becca.

Summer Vacation part 2-Family Reunion-Day 3 activities

We took the boys fishing on the 3rd morning. We learned our lesson from last time and brought better poles for each. We did catch one fish. It was huge!
Photobucket

Photobucket
Eventually the boys gave up waiting for the fish to bite and played with the canoes and the algae in the pond.
Photobucket
We did take a little pond tour in the canoe.
Photobucket
I had a grasshopper along for the ride.
Photobucket
In the afternoon we took the kids to a dinosaur museum. On the way we got pulled over for speeding in a construction zone. Fortunately someone totally missed the construction worker and stop sign that was right next to us and drove right through it into one way traffic. I say fortunately because it got us out of the ticket. Thank you hapless driver.
Photobucket

Photobucket
There was a great interactive area at the museum where you could do light up quizes and dig for dino bones. Very well done.

The last evening we were supposed to do Olympics but it poured on us so we will do them next time.

Summer Vacation part 2-Family Reunion-Activities and Talent Show

We started with some archery practice in the morning. Uncle Paul had this insanely complicated bow that all the boys were trying. Arrr! We're men!
Photobucket
Even the littlest gave it a try. It was so cute... the bow was taller than Logan.
Photobucket
Uncle Win showed Alex and Logan how it was done. He was very sweet with all the kids the whole week.
Photobucket
We did some rock climbing and figured out a great way to swing like Tarzan/Indiana Jones. It was a very satisfying/rewarding way to do it since the kids only had to climb up a half wall and then swing to the other side till the thumped into the ground. We got Emma doing it although we were supposed to keep it secret since in her words, "My mother's going to kill me." (We got it all on video and we promise Steph we were perfectly safe!)
Photobucket
We hooked all three ropes onto Logan and he practically floated to the top.
Photobucket
Brett and Alex climbing.
Photobucket
Logan got very dirty!
Photobucket
In the afternoon we had kids crafts. My cousin Erin and I were in charge of Brett and Thomas. We made space ships out of paper plates and 2 liter bottle rockets. It was great fun using a bicycle pump to shoot them off. They flew about as tall as the 3 story lodge.
Photobucket
Alyssa, Courtney, and Shannon were in charge of Logan, Alex, James, and Brooklyn. They made popsicles and home made kites and they actually flew.
Photobucket

Photobucket
Logan is actually not sad in this picture...he had been licking his lips they were raw and rashed around the outside.
Photobucket

Photobucket
Abby just had fun playing with Grandma.
Photobucket
Kite flying...the wind started up just in time. The tails were made from plastic target bags. So creative and effective. Poor James broke his foot the first morning their so he flew his kite from the comfort of the grass.
Photobucket
We also had pins. Pins is a great reward system where each child can earn pins during the day for doing good deeds and then in the evening they redeem them for a prize.
Photobucket
This is Ran Dather, the short notice MC for the Talent show. We looked up Dan Ratherisms and used them for the jokes. I think the adults appreciated them while the kids enjoyed the knock knock jokes thrown in for them.
Photobucket
The boys helped with a family talent of Kazoos and Deep in the Heart of Texas.
Photobucket
The best show of the night (sorry I am partial) was Brett and Alex's choreographed dance to You Aint Nothin' but a Hound Dog. It was great!
Photobucket

Summer Vacation part 2-Family Reunion-Cowboy Night

We arrived at the ranch and Logan stood on the balcony and looked out to pasture and informed me that he could see Texas.
Photobucket
The first night was cowboy night. We had cowboy grub and lassoed a steer (and played jump rope with the lasso).
Photobucket

Photobucket
Aunt Betsy's outfit took the cake.
Photobucket
We even had fun rounding up the hooligans. Sherriff Bill took each wanted man in front of Judge Dave to have his sentence passed. Bad Bandit Brett was accused of smashing smash bros records. He pled guilty and had to hop on one foot. Cruel and unusual punishment.
Photobucket
Angel face Alex was accused of stealing the show with his robot dancing at the kindergarten program. He pled guilty and gave us a mini show of his talent.
Photobucket
Lukeskywalker Logan was accused of impersonating star wars characters. He got off on all charges because the judge just thought he was just too darn cute. He did give us a quick demo of his imaginary light saber skills. Thank you George Lucas...without you, my child would have no identity. hhhmmm.
Photobucket
Still cute!

Summer Vacation part 1

Here are lots of pictures of the fun we had. I don't have any of the amusement park the kids went too but I am sure I will get some to post.
We visited the Planterium and they had a two story marble run. Can you see who was fascinated with it? I couldn't pull him away. Brett seriously refused to look at anything else nearly the whole time we were there. Fascinating with a capital F!
Photobucket
They also had a marble run overhead that was like a solar system. He liked that too. Thanks mom for the fun treat of going.
Photobucket
Alex and Logan also enjoyed the Marble run. It was nice because it was interactive...you could change the direction of the balls.
Photobucket

Photobucket
I think Abby enjoyed herself too.
Photobucket
Brett on Mars.
Photobucket
All the boys on Mars. Alex's favorite!
Photobucket
Houston we've landed. One step for man, one giant leap for mankind.
Photobucket
You could weigh yourself and find out how much you weighed on other planets. It had cute graphics and cartoons to demonstrate.
Photobucket
They also got to play weather man on a green screen. Who can get enough of seeing yourself on camera.
Photobucket
After the Planetarium we went to the fountain splash park. We had a lot of fun cooling off too.
