We're freezing! We're freezing!

This is what the boys said to me as I opened the front door. They were definately wet and cold. This was their Dad's idea of fun at the park. Boys!

Sweet Tender Boy

Alex woke me up this morning about 4:00 a.m. He had fallen out of bed and hit his head and arm on the table by his bedside. He was not really even crying but I think he wanted a little bit of comfort. After some loves and walking him back to his bed, he apologized for waking me up. Poor kid. I told him it was always okay to wake me up when he is sad, scared, or hurt. I remember when I was 12 or 13 I had an ear ache one night and I waited all night crying and hurting so I wouldn't have to wake my dad up since people were always calling him for problems during the night. The next morning my dad taught me a great lesson. I can always go to him if there is ever a problem. Several years later when I had appendicitis in the middle of the night, I made sure he knew about it right off. He has always been a comfort to me. Thanks Dad! I love you!

My baby boy is 4

I cannot believe it but Logan is finally 4. Funny thing is, he is the first child to believe he is actually that age. Brett would say he was 10 when he was 4 and Alex tried to skip 4 altogether and go directly to 5. Here are some family birthday pictures and his Star Wars birthday party. We dressed everyone as a Padwan and then played Anakin says, Jedi obstacle course, pin the light saber on Yoda, Don't Eat Vader, and light saber duels. I made a rocket cake for the family party and then lightsaber cakes for the party.

Logan helped by adding a few extra M&M's

Texas pride

Each year the kindergartners have a Texas day at school. This year each class had an activity and the kids rotated through. It was great fun. Here is Alex being branded, playing rope, rope, ride, tossing the lasso, and having horse races (they also played cowboy dress-up).

Brett's new favorite food

Food is always an issue with Brett. He doesn't like the texture of ANY meat except McDonald's chicken nuggets and my chicken crescant rollups (What???) Anyway, we were having pizza the other night and I was trying desperately to get him to eat something from the pizza other than crust. I explained it to him very rationally. The bottom of the pizza is bread which he likes, the middle of the pizza is sauce like salsa which he likes, and the top of the pizza is melted cheese which he likes. Now, I have used this rationale with him before and still to no avail. Well my effort finally paid off. He ate a bite and the next thing out of his mouth was, "Mmm this is good." What is next....
